Lingcod, not really a cod at all but the largest member of the greenling family. Lingcod are one of the most exciting catches for the visiting angler. Found along the outer coasts of the state the ling is a voracious apex predator. With a bucket sized mouth full of canine like teeth a large lingcod is a formidable fish. Consuming anything it can catch lings can grow to a respectable size. a forty or fifty pound ling is not uncommon and can test any angler lucky enough to tie into one.
When you book a Multi species trip with us be prepared to have a ball. For these trips we will depart from the Homer boat harbor early in the morning. Depending on weather it may be a two hour boat ride to the fertile waters of the outer coast of the Kenai Peninsula. Once there we will prospect different rocks and other structure for many different kinds of fish including the voracious lingcod, the delicious black rock bass, beautiful yellow eye rockfish, the powerful halibut and sometimes even a silver salmon or two. While there you may even be treated to visits by humpback whales and occasionally a pod of killer whales or Orcas.
